National School Social Work Week is from March 3rd to March 9th, 2024. This week-long celebration shines a spotlight on the dedicated professionals who play a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being and success of students across the nation. This week we celebrate our School Social Workers, Emily Pleszewski and Ryan Smith! We appreciate all that Emily and Ryan do for our students and our school community. Going above and beyond to help our students grow and succeed shows the hard work and dedication these two have at The Valley!

Cassadaga Valley Drama Club presents: The Addams Family, school edition This year’s show was released in 2011, but is a premiere for the CV Drama Club. 54 students in grades 6-12 are involved in the cast, crew, and pit orchestra. The plot line of The Addams Family musical is original, meaning it does not appear in any of the TV episodes or films. In our story, Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family - a man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents. Uncle Fester Addams enlists the help of the Addams family ancestors, but will they be able to help love triumph? Happy Presidents' Day!

Spirit week concluded today with a super exciting pep rally, with the Sophomores claiming the battle of the classes! Thursday was Time Traveler Thursday, and Friday was Class Color Day! Middle School students dressed in CV red, white, and blue, Freshmen wore pink, sophomores wore green, juniors wore purple, and seniors wore black.

Save the dates! Cassadaga Valley's Family Services Center will be hosting a Community Health and Wellness Fair on March 22nd and 23rd!

Five students in Mr. Cole's Computer Hardware class earned their TestOut IT Fundamentals Certification last semester! This industry recognized certification requires students to demonstrate proficiency in computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, databases, programming and security. Congratulations to Ben Elder, Jon Lewis, Andrew Faulkner, Jorden Carlson and Gavin Skinner!

PreK and Kindergarten Registration now open for the 2024-2025 school year at Cassadaga Valley Central Schools! If your child has already attended PreK at CVCS, they are automatically registered for Kindergarten. Students new to the district in both PreK and K will need to register!

Girls On The Run applications are being sent home this week. Please return them to the nurse's office to ensure a spot on the team. We are limited to 15 girls on the team so this is a first come first serve basis. We will always secure a spot for a girl that has not participated in the past. Applications are due 3/1/2024.
